The Annual AVTES Awards
Each year AVTES rewards our most dedicated and high achieving students and employers through the AVTES Awards.
The AVTES Awards recognise and reward excellence in training and the important contribution made by students and employers in building a productive and rewarding training culture. Which means they are a fantastic opportunity for students and employers.
Students can enhance their career prospects and be recognised for their efforts. Employers can be recognised for their investment in training and share success with employees. So why not get involved and nominate yourself or someone you work with.
They also integrate with the Victorian Training Awards. So nominees can further their achievement.
- Australian Apprentice of the Year (Apprentice or Trainee)
- Student of the Year
- Employer of the Year
All entrants must have paid all their outstanding enrolment fees. However, entrants have the opportunity to take any necessary action to ensure this requirement is met by the entry deadline.
Student of the Year
Student of the Year nominees must have been enrolled in an accredited course* with AVTES within the current year. This may be under a government funded arrangement or as a full fee paying student.
*An accredited course is a nationally accredited qualification from a nationally endorsed training package. To confirm if your course meets this criteria you can contact AVTES directly.
Employer of the Year
Employer categories must have at least one employee enrolled within the current year with AVTES.
Individuals and businesses are able to nominate. And you can nominate yourself or someone else. Nominees that have been nominated by someone else will be given the option to further contribute to their nomination.
Get nomination forms by clicking the links below, or contact AVTES directly. Email nomination forms to email@example.com by the nominated closing date and time.
Each eligible nomination is scored by 3 judges. Judges include one Manager and one Trainer. Each category will have the same judges to ensure fairness. Each criteria is weighted equally. Points are awarded according to how well the entrant meets the criteria. Then the average of the 3 scores determines the final score.
Winners will receive the nominated prize and a framed certificate. Employer of the Year receives a trophy. All finalists receive a certificate.
Nominees, finalists and/or winners may be published on the AVTES website, in the AVTES newsletter, and/or in local media. The nomination form includes a consent statement that all nominees are required to sign.
