THE VICTORIAN TRAINING GUARANTEE

Over the last decade Victoria has enjoyed strong economic and population growth. However, there is now a shortage of skilled workers across a range of industries. The Victorian Training Guarantee is part of this initiative and provides an entitlement to a government subsidised place in recognised training to eligible individuals who are upskilling. While a person keeps moving up the qualification scale, the Victorian Training Guarantee will continue to subsidise their training.

Eligibility for access to government subsidised places will depend on certain factors such as age and prior educational history. There will also continue to be a citizenship/residency aspect to eligibility. For people aged up to 20 - Government subsidised places will be available for training at any qualification level.  For people aged 20 and over - Government subsidised places will be available for training at the foundation skills level and for any qualification higher than the qualifications already held.

What this means for you is that AVTES is now able to offer government funded courses to all individuals who meet the eligibility criteria.  This means small business owners, existing employees, casual employees, and even unemployed individuals, who have previously been ineligible, can now access government funded training at a fraction of the usual cost.
